Anurag has completed his Bachelor of Arts in the subject of Ancient Indian Culture from Mumbai University, bagging the subject gold medal in his batch. During the graduation years, he was part of the team that conducted the first archaeological excavation undertaken by Mumbai University, at Chandore in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. He has also coordinated the organisation of the first International Conference on Archaeology held in the Kalina campus of Mumbai University.
He has completed his Master of Arts in Disaster Management from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, where he had the opportunity to be a part of the National Disaster Management Authority team which formulated the 'National Disaster Management Guidelines- Cultural Heritage Sites and Precincts.' Anurag has had a wide range of academic and professional experiences ranging from working in the archiving, development, and arts & culture sectors.
His core competencies are historical research, documentation, Indian art history, and community-based research. Apart from work, he enjoys cooking; reading about history, art, culture, philosophy, psychology; backpacking, and listening to music from around the world, especially flamenco.
